We want you to know what to expect from "Camp Life" before you commit to working at Moorelands Camp. Please read through the statements below and enter your comments.

When you work at Moorelands Camp, consider.....

  1. You live at your job! Role modeling is 24/7!
    I never thought of that
I'll have to work at that
I get that - I can do that
    Comments:
  2. Moorelands is intense. The work is fulfilling but the days are long; this is a high energy job.
I get that - I can do that
    I never thought of that
I'll have to work at that
    Comments:
  3. Recognizing that camp is a children’s environment, committed to Positive Youth Development, you need to be willing to set aside some of your lifestyle choices (for example: consuming alcohol, certain clothing styles, certain music).
I'll have to work at that
I get that - I can do that
    I never thought of that
    Comments:
  4. Working at camp is an amazing experience! At the end of the summer you will be stronger, smarter and probably tired!
    I never thought of that
I'll have to work at that
I get that - I can do that
    Comments:
  5. Although at camp we have most modern amenities, living on an island, in a rustic setting, away from your usual life, takes some adjustment.
I get that - I can do that
    I never thought of that
I'll have to work at that
    Comments:

  1. Why do you believe children choose to go to camp?
  2. What contributions do you think a camp can make to the lives of campers & their families?
  3. In what ways can a staff member contribute to the success of the camp?

Our expectations of our staff members at Moorelands are very high. Our programs are intentional; we want to use every opportunity to have a positive impact on the youth we serve. Working at Moorelands requires a tremendous amount of physical activity, creative energy, emotional investment and patience.

  1. Tell us how your strengths align with the demands of being a committed staff team member.
  2. Tell us about any factors that may affect your ability to consistently fulfill your responsibilities as a staff member at Moorelands.

NOTE: Moorelands Wilderness Camp is smoke free, alcohol free and drug free.
