Moorelands Baby Bundles Program
Babies are especially vulnerable during the first few months of their lives and it is important during infanthood that babies stay warm and dry to sustain healthy growth. Our Baby Bundles program gives children born into poverty the chance for healthy development that every child deserves.
The goal of the Moorelands Baby Bundles program is to provide basic baby supplies and clothing to new mothers living in poverty in Toronto. It is the only program of its kind in Toronto and is provided at no cost to recipients. Each year we distribute some 400 Baby Bundles.
We work in partnership with public health nurses and social service agency workers to identify new mothers in need and to deliver the Bundles. These partnerships ensure that strong connections are made with new mothers and that they and their babies receive follow-up support. Our Bundles are also used as tools for teaching new mothers about caring for their infants.
Being able to provide their baby with new items and clothes increases the self-esteem of new mothers in need and makes for happier, more confident moms.
